IDC STAFF INSTRUCTOR
IDC STAFF INSTRUCTOR
A PADI MSDT that wants to be a PADI IDC Staff Instructor can assist the Course Director on an IDC with the instructor development. On this course you focus on evaluation and counselling, taking in all those things you miss on your first IDC as you focus on passing the exam. As a Staff Instructor you are qualified to teach the Assistant Instructor course, staff IDCs and it is the next step towards Master Instructor and the PADI Course Director course.
Course Content
The IDC Staff Instructor course focuses on evaluation and counselling. It aims to give you the skills to teach Assistant Instructor courses plus the foundation to move through to Master Instructor and Course Director.
During your training we will practice evaluating academic, open water and confined presentations, looking in depth at the scoring criteria and counselling techniques. We will also overview standards for assistant instructor and IDC candidates plus review how to schedule and market an assistant instructor course. You also have the option to audit an entire IDC to gain more practice and experience with evaluating and counselling.
Your IDC staff instructor course includes the PADI Course Director Manual and application code, plus open water and confined evaluation slates. These materials are essential tools during your training and for teaching Assistant Instructors in the future.
We will also provide you with loads of digital materials to help you in your career as a Staff Instructor and help you with advice in how to build a successful Assistant Instructor training program.
Benefits for a dive instructor
This is a great chance to review all what you were taught on the IDC before, in the framework of your own experience as a dive instructor. It is a great career move putting you in a position where you can move through to PADI Master Instructor and eventually Course Director, and giving you a greater insight into the PADI teaching philosophy, pedagogics and dive industry marketing. These are valuable skills if you plan to own or manage a dive center.
